Huge and expansive electro acoustic compositions from Dutch drone man Koen Holtkamp. Well known for his work as one half of Mountains, released on Thrill Jockey,or setting up the Apestaartje collective/record label. Holtkamp’s solo work pushes the organic composition further, with piano, brass, bowls which all meld and morph into processed tones.

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 29 September 2016
Here are two long sprawling affairs from Mountains man Koen Holtkamp. It doesn't veer too far away from that outfits signature sound in that it is a droney blend of acoustic and electronic instrumentation all tangled together as if you've put a load of synths and some stringed instruments in a blender. The first piece is held together by some lovely cello notes which is the only thing here to actually change and I can't actually detect whether it is changing. That's how tangled it is. It sounds like what would happen if you put 100 neo-classical influenced snakes in a tub and asked them to slither.
Overleaf is something quite different. This seems to be a mesh of vintage synth freeform mayhem. Basically switch a modular synth on and it might do something like this. Some nice percussion has been added to create a more exotic air before the whole thing departs and we are left with bell-like synth drone and a heavily treated trumpet. Totally different from side A but variety is good.
