Garage tinged and DIY through and through, Pip Blom writes, records and produces these darkened indie-pop tunes with a discrete minimal backline to a great emotional that you could compare to The XX, with a snarled and gruffened Cardigans esque vocal, there a load of 90s angst in there as well. Considering she was 3 in 1999, that’s pretty good.

Never underestimate the power of the customer. We do listen to you, you know? Well...sometimes. Anyway this single was recommended to us by one of you people and we duly took note.
Pip Blom is an Amsterdam based singer songwriter who plays a form of minimal rock music that recalls the very early spindly anger of PJ Harvey with perhaps a bit of the Breeders 'Pod' era thrown in. 'Hours' is happy to do it's own thing and doesn't scream for you to like it but you are drawn in anyway by the off kilter guitar and distorted vocals. 'Truth' on the the other side takes a chord sequence straight off 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' yet is too cool to worry about it bursting into a deliciously spangly downward facing chorus that makes you forget that whole plagiary court case.
An auspicious start.
