Being a co founder of Anticon and beat maker for cLOUDDEAD Odd Nosdam is a fully accredited forward thinking beat maker. With Sisters he has managed to enlist the ever elusive Boards of Canada into remix duties with an emotionally charged 80s choral/church bell piece and on the back, teamed up with LA producer Teebs.
7/10 Clinton Staff review, 06 October 2016
Odd Nosdam is still the most underrated sound-smith out there in the current day. He's so good that Boards of Canada want to remix him. Here, 'Sisters' one of the myriad highlights of his 'Sisters' LP (now sold out, slowcoaches) has been re-interpreted by the Scottish electronic duo. To be fair they don't do a lot to the track (don't need to really -it's pretty good as it is) they simply add further keyboard squelches and a few simple beats to the gorgeous and grainy piece that is based around a wonderful choral vocal. Little else happens really but still I feel that when we remember 2016, this is one of the tracks we will realise far too late was one of the defining moments.
There's also an OG drum version and a drum edit by Teebs. I'm just sad that Bracken's 17 minute monster remix could not be fitted on here. You'll have to sweep the internet to get that one.
