Charge the bong and get the brewskis ready. Crobot join the Nuclear Blast family by putting the rock and roll back into hazy, bluesy stoner metal. Working with the Lamb of God and Clutch producer and mixed by the guy that did Led Zeppelin and Nine Inch Nails, christ what do you need? Osbourne’s bat to officially endorse them?

If you had to sum up Crobot's latest slab of hard rock Welcome To Fat City in one word, it would probably be bombastic. Combining the bluesy swagger of 70s-era Aerosmith with riffs reminiscent of Audioslave, they still somehow sound genuinely unique thanks to their tight and original songwriting thats refuse to pander to the modern 70's revival like Wolfmother or Graveyard are doing. Songs like the title track and "Play It Cool" perfectly encapsulates the album in a nutshell - Groovy opening licks from guitarist Chris Bishop, then the perfect mixture of bluesy guitar wails and palm-muted crunches before vocalist Brandon Yeagley can really let rip in the choruses. While a bit of dynamic variation would improve it slightly, Crobot clearly has an X-factor to their music that gives them the potential to be huge one day.
