7/10 Jamie Staff review, 12 September 2016

Garage psych duo The Liminanas have released one of the standout tracks from their Malamore lp, ‘Garden of Love’, with the addition of not one but two stellar remixes from techno-house veteran Andrew Weatherall. The single version is bright and poppy and underpinned by a typical signature bass-line from a certain Peter Hook. As you might expect, the Weatherall remixes take the ‘nanas into wholly darker, more acidic terrain; but don’t fear though, because Marie’s breathy vocal is still intact, as is Peter’s more moodily deadpan delivery. Squiggly-wiggly synths add more atmosphere to the original.
