Comprehensive and utterly essential edition of the complete works of Wolfgang Voigt's seminal techno project Gas. Comes in highly collectible 10LP+4CD box set, including art book with previously unreleased artwork and edits never before released on vinyl. Voigt produced these seminal albums between 1995 and 2000 and pretty much re-invented electronic music with a series of foggy dub techno and loop-based ambience that still stands up as a high point of the genre.

To mark the 20th anniversary since its inception, Wolfgang Voigt's revered GAS output finally gets the super deluxe reissue treatment fans of the work have desperately longed for.

Finally dreams have come true as Kompakt present this lavish box set - a comprehensive anthology containing a whopping 10 slabs of vinyl and four CDs. Long out of print on vinyl, ZAUBERBERG, KOENIGSFORST and POP are now presented as 3LPs (instead of the original 2LP pressings), with extended edits and superior audio quality. Also included is the sought after OKTEMBER 12" and an art-book containing previously unseen images.

In the dub/ambient techno realms this influential body of work is rivalled only by the Basic Channel camp, and like their output, the GAS material still sounds as fathoms deep and otherworldly as it did when it was unleashed during the years spanning 1996-2000 on the Mille Plateaux label. Classic electronic music.

Little else need be said about GAS at this point, but its power compels you to add your voice to the endless list of plaudits. Wolfgang Voigt's most famous and most acclaimed project has always been stunning, an immersive, take-you-by-the-hand walk through a dense sonic wood, where light slips through the canopy to illuminate the cold rain dripping onto the forest floor. However, this new compilation of arguably Voigt's finest works, despite the eye-watering price tag, is a must-have. Never before have the atmospheres seemed so close and inviting. Never before has the depth of the sound been so precisely and necessarily drawn out, into a clearing of Voigt's beloved Konigsförst where you feel both right at home, and on the cusp of touching on something quite otherworldly.
