Communions are a new bunch from Copenhagen, Denmark. Don’t Hold Anything Back / Eternity sounds like the young Danes are trying to imagine themselves into 1992-era Manchester. They’ve done their homework too: listen closely to those drums and tell me you aren’t convinced? 7” in advance of a full-length debut, on Fat Possum.

6/10 Clinton Staff review, 14 September 2016
I like Fat Possum as a label but not stating which is the A or B side on this record hasn't been their best move. It’s fair to say it has caused me a minor inconvenience. I think this plays at 45rpm too not 33rpm which makes it perky guitar pop rather than deep goth. See the problems they've caused?
This bunch of Danes have spangly guitars and have produced a song that sounds like Noel Gallagher has joined Blossoms and taken over songwriting duties. It’s quite Oasis in a lot of ways. Which is worrying. Overleaf is the type of song that would have been life affirming in 1990 when we all danced to the sound of the Milltown Brothers. I feel strange.
