Super Touchy by Strange Collective

Strange Collective bring a surf charm and energy to psych/kraut rock, with some really cheeky cleanly delayed guitar licks and vocal ooohs and ahhhhs. Rocking out a bit with some 70s swing before settling into a constant and tight groove. Woozy and a little nostalgic but still remains hugely vibrant above everything else.

7/10 Thomas McIntyre 28th August 2016

This is a excellent and promising first EP from one of the most talked-about bands here in Liverpool (If you read Bido Lito! that is). The five songs here all balance their inherent rock swagger with some genuine invention and fun: listen how the bluesy strut of the opening track dissolves and becomes reincarnated as a krauty chug towards the finish line, or how the shout-along choruses of 'Are You Safe' and 'Wasted' become more endearing with each listen with their recognisable power chords and cool vocal performances. It's pretty slight, sure, but here's hoping the group continue to develop their already-commendable skills in structuring a good psych-rock tune (See the triumphant centerpiece 'Heavy') for a great full-length debut.
