Something a little different here from CPU, which is always welcome. This time round it’s a guy called Federico Leocata who I haven’t heard before but he’s a self-described audiovisual artist, apparently delving into ‘sound based analysis of the human psyche’. Not exactly, but you might be forgiven for thinking that it is scanning your brain with its weird chromatic creep synth layers. The first one, ‘Den Eviga Aterkomsten’, sounds like the thoughts of John Carpenter but zombified and placed into a broken cryosleep machine with nought but a keyboard for company. A lot of the synths and drum sounds are totally CPU, so you’re in familiar territory but without any of the upbeat space-funkiness that you know and love. The CPU broke for this one.

‘Metavision’ kinda comes close to their usual fare, but a bit slow ‘n’ steadier and with a lone choral voice hanging in the back. Still with the creepy overtones too, so maybe useful for some dancefloor chills? I dunno. It’s very good, anyway.
