This 1994 album by these moody rock monsters shows the remaining trio of Rick Wright, Dave Gilmour and Nick Mason concentrating on serious music with lyrics all about communication. Musically they have settled into their adult rock niche pretty nicely.

The Division Bell (25th Anniversary Edition) by Pink Floyd

8/10 Jack 25th August 2016

The Division Bell to me is another one of those albums that was unfairly shot down by the music industry with bias in its critiquing. Overall, the sound of this album echoes the more collective Floyd sound in the early 70s rather than the Waters-driven visions of the late 70s. There's a more modern sound, but much of the stuff here sounds like it could have cropped up on Obscured by Clouds, Meddle or Atom Heart Mother. Rick Wright makes a welcome return as a composer, contributing to approximately half the songs.
