Kindly ambient label Serein assembles their various drone grazers, scrapers and sleepers into one fabulous compilation. Not only does 'Orbital Planes & Passenger Planes' have a rhyming title, it serves as a meditative travel piece, music for active out-of-window observations and pillow-leaning existentialism. Includes cuts from drone songwriter Benoit Pioulard and contact noise artist Strie -- plus cuts from Hidden Rivers, Otto A Totland and The Inventors of Aircraft. And more! So much more.

9/10 Ian Staff review, 15 August 2016
Here's a long overdue compilation from floaty ambient loveliness label Serein Records, after releasing a batch of superb albums over the last few years like 2010's much sought after 'Retold' by Nest, last year's triple whammy of LP's by Brambles (drifting neoclassical), The Balustrade Ensemble (experimental synthgaze) and my personal favourite, 'Where Moss Grows' by Hidden Rivers (glitchy Boards Of Canada hauntology). They now have a sufficient enough roster to compile the best bits onto this bite size collection.
All the above are here and we also get the piano tickles of Otto A Totland, a ghostly choral dub from Strie and a rare collaboration from dronester Olan Mills -- plus Katie English's ambient/folk alter ego Isnaj Dui. All in all Serein has put out some seriously good music and this is a fantastic way to nibble at all the different bits and pieces like an ambient meze, olives and hummus optional.
