Hey! They're finally reissuing this one! The secret favourite of many a Sunny Day Real Estate fan, 'How It Feels To Be Something On' started as something of a cashgrab project via Sub Pop (who were looking for a B-sides record to flog) but the band decided to record new material instead -- the result being this monolith of emo, a quickly made record with the band's signature guitar-disgruntled intensity.

7/10 Jack Customer review, 19th July 2016This album is more epic than the Pink Album, and perhaps that's because on How It Feels To Be Something On you can understand what Jeremy Egnik is saying. Maybe it's the way the songs can build from a sleepy whisper to an exalted climax. There's a lot of power and swirling guitars, and the melodies just knock you flat. I would draw paralells to 70's. All the same, some of these songs seem just a little too poppy for my tastes. So I'd say this album falls short of brilliant, but I certainly don't take it out of my stereo without reluctance.
