From the name, L.A. Salami sounds like a Californian punk band: in fact, he’s a UK ‘postmodern blues and urban folk’ musician. Ahead of his forthcoming debut full-length album he releases The City Nowadays, a big statement of a single with confessional / political lyrics and large brass-powered choruses. 7” on Sunday Best.

8/10 Chase Taylor Customer review, 20th June 2016
As stylish as he is talented, Lookman Adekunle Salami is a story teller in the purest sense of the word.
“I want to portray modern life using the past as a vehicle, I love Sixties and Seventies music, that’s where my heart is. But I don’t want it to sound of the past, I want it to speak of now.’
Having supporting AnnenMay Kantereit on a sold out tour across Germany in February 2016 and once picked in his ‘Future Radio 1 Star’ feature by Zane Lowe, there is an eager anticipation building to hear his new sound and debut album coming August 26th via Sunday Best Recordings. His debut single from that album ‘The City Nowadays’, is a brilliant first single with full band instrumentation elevating L.A.'s story telling and social commentary to new heights.
