3-way collaboration here between the Mancunian duo Jozef K, the 303 groove-dude Tin Man, and Winter’s Son. Acid Test 11 contains 2 new tracks of inventive, acid-derived sound-sweep, as well as a remix from Erika. It goes without saying that this will get crowds jacking, but touches of piano and other melodic aspects add a thoughtful feel as well. 12”.

This is a collaboration between these three Manchester hotshots who contrive to make some rather glistening late night techno which could perfectly soundtrack the times you've tried to drive out of Manchester and got lost. Opener 'Fates Unknown' perfectly marries haunting Coldplay pianos (come back!) with acidy techno with lots of synth squelches rising and falling into the mix. It’s an expertly crafted slab of haunting acid and there's an Erika remix too which is much more of a standard acid thump with all the emotion of the original wiped.
Whenever I drive into East Lancs I’m always delighted to see a massive bulk appear in the skyline and that bulk is Pendle Hill which is immortalised in the excellent track overleaf ‘Pendle by Night‘. I’m fairly certain that this runs at 45rpm although no mention is made on the sleeve. Anyway it’s a lovely piece of burbling cinematic techno with a big fat bass underpinning some seriously excellent synth squigglings. Really good 12" this.
