Big Naturals are a duo and Anthroprophh is mostly a solo deal, but you wouldn’t know it from the thick weight of sound on this split LP: the whole frequency range is bursting with blackened psych-rock gunk. Ferocious shit from noisy quarters. This self-titled outing is released in a limited edition on Cardinal Fuzz in hand-made sleeves.

Here is some drone rock. Please digest it slowly. Big Naturals & Anthroprophh are two people plus one person making big music out of skeleton band conventions: the drums, the guitars, the bass and the generally grumpy, distorted, low-end amplification of it all. Boom. In my mind their faces are all frowning and I couldn’t agree more.
As far as the first side goes, take it easy: this is straight-and-narrow stoner rock with the occasional hat-tip to sonic beautification, as on the second half of this record’s opening side, where some warped ambience begins to offer a bit of outdoorsiness to the ever-so-slow riffing and the almost subliminally slow drum fills. On the flip, things get messy and psychedelic, the guitar positively bursting with energy on its noisy ascent into weird rock heaven. Take side one if you want zombie rock music so numbing you forget how to be; flip it to snap out.
