Fred und Luna is actually just musician Rainer Buchmueller. Gluck auf celebrates some of Buchmueller’s favourite electronic musicians and will inevitably see Fred und Luna passed off as some Kraftwerk homage. It is far more than that, with the electronics taking on different lo-fi themes and shades to make a varied and charming album.

This is actually one German man, Rainer Buchmueller showcasing over four tracks his innate love of Kraftwerk.
‘Gluck Auf’ is a pulsing 8 or so minute opus which perfectly recreates ‘Autobahn’ era Kraftwerk and their motorik pulse. ‘Geg Nie Zuriick’ uses an interesting zither type noise to cascade eastern melodies over bobbing early day electronic music rhythms, the remaining two tracks showcase later less melodic, more techno-lly (is that a word?) minded Kraftwerk with pulsing synths and the kind of Arthur Baker type noises New Order would go on to incorporate into their sound.
The record is a perfect facsimile of a certain era of warm and analogue electronic music and not much else but it's a nice listen for fans of vintage synth.
