Caro C, previously Caro Snatch creates an expressive and intuitive blend of electronics, vocals, piano and strings with definite nods to Joanna Newsom, Ludovico Einaudi and Delia Derbyshire. Playing with seemingly simple and effective themes her sound palette breathes fresh air into the modern classical formula.

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 25 May 2016
I’m tired and I fancy some beauty. I will get some here but I also leave the album feeling slightly disturbed. Let me tell you why.    Caro C is an intrepid sound explorer who has probably found her place on this album of luscious neo-classical compositions built out of piano, subtle electronics and lovely twirling violin lines. What separates Caro C from all the beauty available on tap is her voice which is absent from the initial ‘Heartmind Preylude’ but ensures ‘Clumsy Conclusions’ has a more intimate and personal nature. She kind of speak sings, almost in the manner of Laurie Anderson with a kind of dramatic flourish.  There’s something disconcerting about how the voice sits with the electronics which would normally create a relaxing environment. The voices are unusual especially on ‘Kindness’ which use several voice snippets over the kind of descending piano motif that wouldn’t be out of place on a Dustin O’Halloran album. It’s this juxtaposition that makes this record a fascinating listen but also for some listeners may disturb the tranquility.   Elsewhere Caro S shows she can sing neo-torch songs (’Crazy Wonderful), creates a kind of experimental theatre take on lo-fi song craft that seems to use the worst lyrics ever ‘Disconnected Daze’. I can’t quite get the hang of it but there are moments off exquisite beauty juxtaposed with a daring approach to lyricism that leads me to think that she has something that may be honed into something transcendental in future.
