Piper at the Gates of Dawn was the debut album by Pink Floyd and their only album to be recorded under the stewardship of founding member Syd Barrett. It was released in 1967 - Barrett was fired midway through the recording of its follow-up A Saucerful of Secrets. Piper at the Gates of Dawn is highly regarded as a British psychedelic classic and definitely their most wonderfully strange recording.

10/10 Jack Customer review, 19th September 2016
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is a delightful slice of late 60's British psychedelia. Sometimes fun and playful, at times sinister and frightening. I still listen to this one all the way through; an incredible, lasting debut. If all you know of the Floyd is their big-sellers like the Wall and Dark Side of the Moon, I would approach this one with a very open mind, as it is NOTHING like the harder, more traditional "rock" sound. Roughly half of this is twisted, psychedelic pop, the other half experimental, instrumental, spacey jams.
