Breeding the Spawn, the band's second album, is often regarded by many as lacking in comparison to their previous work. Although it does a number of things right in order to set itself apart from Effigy of the Forgotten and Pierced From Within, with songs such as "Epitaph of the Credulous", "Prelude to Repulsion" and "Ignorant Deprivation" showing that they can succeed at giving the songs the variety necessary in order to stay interesting throughout, this album would probably be held in even higher regard in comparison to the rest of their back catalogue if it weren't for some major flaws, most notably the production. As a result this leaves the riffing rather indistinct and sadly degraded to almost indecipherable buzzing, which takes away the melodic value of the blasting sections on some songs, but this doesn't mean it's entirely unlistenable. Flaws aside, Breeding the Spawn is a good example of death metal done right.
