Fifth album from revered Detroit deephouse producer Omar-S on his own FXHE imprint - now spread over four slabs of red wax.

As with all Omar-S albums there’s a good variety for DJ’s to tuck into as well as being enjoyable listens when ingested in full. There’s plenty here to soundtrack and create good vibes at a party. ‘Take Ya Pik Nik!!!’ is pretty much guaranteed to get asses shaking. There’s the soulful vocal house of ‘Ah' Revolution (Poli Grip For Partials Nik Mix)’ and ‘On Your Way’, the classic detroit techno sound of ‘You Silk Suit Wearin MuLaFuk'ka’, The Moodymann flavoured beatdown funk of ‘Seen Was Set (Norm Talley Mix)’, the obligatory, raw acid house of ‘Bitch.... I'll Buy Another One!!!’ which is kinda like a fucked up take on Hardfloor’s ‘Aceperience’.

What’s great about Omar-S productions and is really evident on ‘The Best!’ is that to an extent they adhere to a classic house music template -- you can sense his schooling and influence, but then he totally flips it with his idiosyncratic take, and his unique hardware fueled production sound. Raw, soulful, deep, bumpin’, dirty, funky - all bases covered.
