A split release between Rrose, the exciting producer known for involvement with Sandwell District, and Kangding Ray. Noisy, forward-pushing electronics are they name of the game: with Kangding’s track pushes towards the dancefloor, whereas the Rrose cut is more noisy and abstract. 12” on Stroboscopic Artefacts.

8/10 Ant Staff review, 14 April 2016
This has landed the same time as another Rrose split 12” - that one over there on his Eaux label. Both these guys have had stuff out on Lucy’s Stroboscopic Artefacts before. The pair appearing together on a 12” for the label makes perfect sense - both artists mining a similar realm i.e techno with epic sound design.
Kangding Ray’s side consists of driving dancefloor cut ‘Ardent’ - propelled by techno’s basic elements for its momentum, but bursting with tons of interesting morphing electronics that give an epic sense of cosmic scale.
Underneath Rrose stashes the beats and hits us with ‘Swallow’ which bulids from doomy bass rumbles into big volcanic sizzling synth eruptions that climax into what sounds like an army of malfunctioning droids wreaking absolute havoc, zapping and destroying each other across a decaying post- apocalyptic wasteland.
