Celebrating his 150th birthday (dude is getting on) this marvellously expansive collection brings together all the best known work from the legendary piano man from France, though as I read on the press blurb he was actually half Scottish. Within you'll hear all the prototypes for the minimalism we enjoy today as well as music he recorded for adverts, ballets and pretty much everything.

8/10 Jack Customer review, 2nd April 2018
An absolutely stellar set. There are some marvellous things in this box and as many performances of both the orchestrated and solo piano versions of the Gymnopodies as you could ever want. And it includes the wonderfully evocative Charles Gerhardt French Album - but it's chockfull of great Satie stuff and the "friends" are not exactly chopped liver. As Satie did not leave any piano rolls or recordings of his own works, the playing of Poulenc is probably as close to a 'received text' as one is likely to have.
