Bleached return with a follow-up to their sun-kissed debut Ride Your Heart. The rough, and gratifyingly old fashioned, garage of their debut is much the same, but when you have a great melodic and abrasive sound why change it? But Welcome To The Worms is also more ambitious, with great songwriting and vocals.
6/10 Clinton Staff review, 30 March 2016Compared to the sludgy September Girls album this is like getting your ears syringed. Rather than going down the murk/goth route, they are doing the heavy rock thing. This would be what I would imagine Suzi Quattro to sound like if you described her to me. ‘Wednesday Night Melody’ even has that Joan Jett-esque ‘I Love Rock and Roll’ riff going on. It has quite a good chorus this one. Why does Joan Jett still look so young? It’s a question I’m toying with whilst my ears are being battered. Like a lot of music, when they get a good song going this is pretty decent. But it doesn’t always happen.
