Bleached return with a follow-up to their sun-kissed debut Ride Your Heart. The rough, and gratifyingly old fashioned, garage of their debut is much the same, but when you have a great melodic and abrasive sound why change it? But Welcome To The Worms is also more ambitious, with great songwriting and vocals.

Compared to the sludgy September Girls album this is like getting your ears syringed. Rather than going down the murk/goth route, they are doing the heavy rock thing. This would be what I would imagine Suzi Quattro to sound like if you described her to me. ‘Wednesday Night Melody’ even has that Joan Jett-esque ‘I Love Rock and Roll’ riff going on. It has quite a good chorus this one. Why does Joan Jett still look so young? It’s a question I’m toying with whilst my ears are being battered.   Like a lot of music, when they get a good song going this is pretty decent. But it doesn’t always happen.
