On Fleeting, for the Thrill Jockey label, Glenn Jones’ guitar fingerpicking is sounding rich, complex and more beautiful than ever. Jones’ unconventional tunings and ability to interlink dense melodies makes him an icon of American Primitive and Takoma school guitar playing. His unique style is perfectly balanced between technical skill and emotive playing.

8/10 Richard Customer review, 22nd August 2018
Glenn Jones continues to produce some of the best modern day American instrumental six string guitar (& some 5 string banjo) music. You can pretty much guarantee that any of his records will do the job if that is what you are looking for, and 'Fleeting' is no exception. There are a number of really lovely gentle tunes on here, no more pretty than 'Mother's Day' which is a gorgeous 5 minute meditation that will sooth many a frazzled brain after a hard days work. Recorded outside the LP also includes sutble field recordings which add a level of authenticity to the overall sound. Lovely presentation too, with detailed notes on each track, plus the usual great artwork. Some copies are on coloured vinyl too. Highly recommended if you like Jack Rose, John Fahey (who Jones is an expert on), and the like.
