Since John Olson declared noise as being a dead, I for one have never given up hope that it’s an artform that still has a future. It’s true that the quality of output from the noise/ industrial/power electronics underground can dramatically vary in quality (it always has) but there’s more people making all forms of music now so it’s a question of filtering.

The debut Himukalt tape is one of the more satisfying noise releases I’ve heard recently. The debut release from Nevada’s Ester Kärkkäinen sounds controlled and sculpted, a window into the soul of its creator as opposed to the relentless unhinged nihilism that’s often de rigueur in noise. For example ‘Without Laughter’ is gently suffocating as it evolves. These tracks reach deep into core human emotions, it can often be frightening but ultimately rewarding to go there, life's not a bed of roses and we often need to experience darkness to see the light.

Well executed, visceral, cathartic sound - If you dig early Maurizio Bianchi, Brighter Death Now, Prurient circa 'Cocaine Death', Cold Meat Industry etc. then check this out.
