Psychedelic drone hits the disco on this vinyl 12” from Black Zone Myth Chant. Jimi W shows the French producer in a playful mood, mashing nasty sounding synthesizers with distorted percussion. These garbled rhythms and strange tones create an industrial-electro that Hieroglyphic Being would be proud of.

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 17 February 2016
No matter how much I tried to waggle my brain I just couldn't imagine what psych drone meets disco was supposed to sound like. The truth is, it's nothing like I imagined. 'Reload Pain', the opening track here, sounds like the history of electronica being fired around a seaside arcade. Spools of plasticy synth dart around to off kilter percussion to disorientating effect. Look elsewhere and you'll find all manner of off kilter sounds from bouncing ball drones on 'Jail Love' to '80s sounding pitch shifted vocal and pan pipe explorations on 'Night Chicks'. The closing 'Zero to One' sounds like someone making music using a ZX Spectrum whilst hurtling around on a rollercoaster.
