Back To Black was the second and final album by Amy Winehouse. It was regarded as a classic pretty much upon on its release. Here she found her ideal musical partner in Mark Ronson whose soulful production was the perfect backdrop to her incredible voice. Contains Rehab, Love Is A Losing Game and Tears Dry On Their Own.

I really wasn’t a fan of Amy Winehouse and I had to listen to this album a few times before thinking it was any good. Eventually, its qualities did seep in to me. “Tears Dry On Their Own” was the first track to catch my ear – a pretty genuine soulful effort. “Rehab” is a well produced pop hit, and like much of the album, the lyrics are of an honest and subversive nature.
“Love Is A Losing Game” and the title track are great. One of my favourite things about this album, however, is how Amy Winehouse coined the word “fuckery”, which is used in “Me & Mr Jones”. I’m not too keen on the reggae numbers, but that’s personal taste. Mark Ronson’s production and having The Dap Kings as the backing band help this album a lot.
