Bikini Party/Birthday Kill is the new 7” EP from The Manhattan Love Suicides. It follows on from last year’s More Heat! More Panic! album. The 4-track EP marks a new direction for the band - less fuzz, more jarring guitars and irate vocals. Perfect for black clad disaffected among us. Limited to 300 copies.

7/10 Staff review, 27 January 2016

It’s something I’ve always thought but never said.... "I really don’t want to go to your bikini party. I prefer a good birthday kill". I really do. So do perma-sun glassed Leeds sludgers Manhattan Love Suicides on the A side of this 7” which powers along on a Stooges riff and screaming guitars.

Overleaf we get the lovely 80’s indie sobbing of ‘Deserted Coastal Town’ one part Morrissey the other part the Sundays. ‘Action & Memory’ sounds a little like Guided By Voices with melodic bass playing and a metronomic beat whilst closer ‘What Am I supposed to Do?’ sounds like it was recorded in the exhaust pipe of a Ford Fiesta.

Overall a nice flit through various fuzzy indie stylings.
