Brand new album from Lucinda Williams, a true country music veteran. The Ghosts of Highway 20 is a weighty collection of American storytelling, Williams performing with a band that includes Bill Frisell and Greg Leisz. Travel, and memories of places known, are a strong running theme. Double CD or double LP on Highway 20 Records.

8/10 Jack Customer review, 10th December 2016
Lots of albums have been labeled 'Southern Gothic' over the years, mostly by writers who get lost once they encounter an album that offers up sketches of rural life that have no place on the radio. This album comes not to bury, or exploit, the South, but more to come to terms with its ability to shape a person and their uncertain futures. Music like this is for late at night when all the issues of the day have been settled or scuttled. The people inhabiting these tunes are ghostly and of another time, but still haunting the singer all these years later.
