- Crowd Noise by Gaunt

Heavily percussive debut EP of fresh and dynamic rhythms from UK producer Gaunt on Beneath’s Mistry label.
‘Crowd Noise’ kicks things off, building with simmering hi-hats and shuddering kicks, dry claps, erratic clockwork ticks and buried vocal coming together mid-way and locking into an itchy stop/start groove. ’JP’ builds tension with the sounds of robo-birds, pitched down vocal sample and satisfying rib-cage rattling heavy subs.
Underneath ‘MMRH’ teases with woody percussion, shakers and funked up, gargantuan wobbling kicks with an emphasis on tension and release. ‘SP12’ sounds like its struggling along with ghoulish possession, like the everything in the dance got slowed right down like in The Matrix. Gaunt fills the space with brutal subs and eerie dubbed out f/x.
