Belgian ambience from Wolves and Horses, aka Christian Saint-Viteux. The tracks that make up Every Moment Of Light And Dark were apparently composed with imaginary short films in mind, and are suitably cinematic as a result. Slow-moving atmospheres, as you’d expect, buoyed occasionally by emotive touches of piano. CD on UAE Records.

Some emotive and frosty ambient vibes here from newcomer Wolves & Horses on UAE. It’s provided me with a name for my TV comedy screenplay, Only Wolves and Horses, where Del Boy gets torn apart by dogs with Rodney’s face. Next Comic Relief, watch your screens.
Christian Saint-Viteaux is a calm person, reclining in melancholy and wistful literary quotes to build his sound-world around you. Long, drawn out chords unfold like a great tale of old, all with an icy crackle and a piano or two propping them up, a beacon of light amidst the snowstorm. I’ve been playing Skyrim all week and right now I’m there again. Look, a dragon.
Every Moment of Light and Dark is making some deep ambient statements, though they’re long-established statements that we may have heard before among the Kranky releases of the 00s, and from Home Normal and the like. Good, cinematic stuff though that’ll accompany your winter period. If it’s even winter where you are.
