Sherard Ingram brings more Detroit sci-fi techno in his inimitable style. The titular cut reminding me a lot of ‘Star Chart’ from his 'Aqua Team 2' 2x12” on WeMe. I adore that tune, so this is really hitting the sweet spot for me, as it tunnels deeper into the celestial. UK techno stalwart Aubrey turns in a top drawer mix that increases the energy just a little; with stomping metallic percussion to propel you through the wormhole, twisting the gorgeous original shimmering synth motifs into bleepy shapes but keeping their essence intact.

‘Lurker’ is like stepping aboard a space cruiser, blasting through the stars - dynamically shifting into dark matter and back into the light of the sun. ‘IP Ping’ is propelled by sparse percussion that leaves space for low slung bass booms and gorgeous layers of searching, glowing neon synth. One for the Drexciya heads for sure.

Sherard always makes his machines sing, his music often reminds me of what originally attracted me to techno - music that sounded like it was from another galaxy. Techno has become so dystopian lately and although I do have time for some of that stuff, without a utopian counterbalance it can drag you down. As Jeff Mills once said “The future is what we make it”. Great EP - so check out the full stream if you know what's good for ya.
