Dave McClean of Django Django runs the Kick + Clap label, which now releases this 12” from Tom Furse of The Horrors, who has previously released on Lo Recordings. When did all these indie boys get so good at proper dance music eh? Run To Me Suite is indeed good, with a shuffle-worthy early techno vibe.

7/10 Andrew Customer review, 20th October 2015
Well, I knew very little of the Horrors save for an Andy Weatherall remix that appeared on a comp of his, so was intrigued when the Tom Furse Digs collection appeared on Lo. Who is this chap that encroaches into my musical world? Well the answer was quite a discerning one. The digs comp is a lovely collection of library recordings; by turn dreamy, funky, jazzy but all with a slight sense of the 'exotic' at least in a 1970's sense where the slightest whiff of calypso would be enough to evoke a sense of Caribbean adventure.
So then came his ep, this time four tracks of krautrock, balearic chugging grooves. Again interesting. Now? Bloody deep house/techno? What's he trying to do become the Amazon of production putting everyone else out of business? DOES TOM FURSE PAY TAX?
I digress, this is lovely stuff, classic sounding beats with a good sense of groove and melody.
It's not going to rip up any trees, but for someone who seems to be dabbling in a variety of musical fields it is more than competent and really shames some 'house' producers who have been in the game much longer. You wonder if he could be about to be the next Kieran Hebden - he certainly has the chops. I'm sure he does pay tax too.
