This week’s second best Courtney (coming waaaaay behind Martin Courtney) is that old stager Ms Love. Responsible for many things over the years (including possibly the death of a man) she is certainly a survivor. As the chorus bursts forth on the big and brash ‘Miss Narcissist’ she sings the words "no apologies" (didn’t someone else sing something similar one time). It does everything that you want her music to do, brooding verses, sky scraping chorus. It’s certainly not the worst thing she’s ever done.   Most of any good work is undone on ‘Killer Radio’ which has a dance beat. It also has a radio-friendly chorus (and crucially mentions the word "radio" which as any self regarding 70’s songwriter knows is a good idea if you want to snag Peter Powell's ear). Overall you end up with the impression of a Katy Perry song as sung by Selma Bouvier.
