Multicast Dynamics here unveils the third record in a four part series theme around the interactions nature and humanity. Scandinavia is a brooding thing, synths shimmering their way through a dark and humming landscape. Powerful atmospheres which make it a perfect fit for Denovali, who release the record.
8/10 Clinton Staff review, 03 December 2015
Time is of the essence today with records to pack and bananas to eat (in that order) so I’ll keep this brief despite this being an album that needs a lot of exploration/explanation.
See press release for further explanation behind the record but it has a tremendous lo-end feel that I’m finding really appealing. Sub bass picks out melodies whilst your ear fills with crackles. It’s dub techno without the techno bit (no beats) and actually very little dub but the atmospheres remain. Think the recent Anjou collaboration of former La Bradford folks or Pole’s more out-there moments or the underwater sweep of Deepchord but this is dark and heavy rather than light and clicky and the pulsing synths of ‘Massa’ provide a churning bedrock for the Gas like textures to drift around.
Tremendously atmospheric dark dubby ambience that demands a listen.
