A titan of blockbuster soundtracks, Hans Zimmer lends his steady hand to the music behind Rush. No, not the band but the dramatic cinema reimagining of the Formula 1 rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda. Predictably tense and forward-moving, it ticks all the boxes for a racing film. Out on limited 180g red vinyl, gatefold 2LP from Music On Vinyl.

- Rush (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Hans Zimmer / Various
7/10 Jack Customer review, 17th January 2016
Rush continues Hans Zimmer's recent trend of percussion and electronics. The music is full of thrills and has a certain intensity throughout, which can get tedious at times but feels very appropriate for a racing film. While I see the score working extremely well within the film, it's not quite as interesting as an isolated listening experience. In context, Rush showcases Zimmer at his best, adapting his style sonically for an era it is perfectly suited for. Rush is a must-have for fans of the composer.
