12” vinyl on Into the Light. Vangelis Katsoulis is a Greek experimental ambient artist. Sleeping Beauties is a set of unreleased tracks dating back from the late 80s, and here three tracks have been taken and reworked into some lush house tunes by Telephones, Young Marco, and Max D. The originals are very futurist, and these reworks almost put them where they belong.

8/10 Andy Customer review, 9th October 2015

Lovely remixes here, three tracks of beautiful deep house versions of Vangelis Katsoulis's work. Hot as hell righg now 'Telephones' are first up with 'The Slipping Beauty'. They have recently released a couple of essential 12"s on the excellent Golf Channel label as well as co-producing Jose Padilla's album 'So Many Colours' on International Feel. Allmof which youbshould be checking out if you are thinking of buying this 12. Telephones take conjures up Fingers Inc style programming delivering a clean, deep house effort that is delicate enough for home, bar or club play. These guys aren't EDM banger producers, they are in the classic tradition of making 'machine soul'.

On the flip Young Marco takes 'Enigma' and turns in a slightly jazzier rework, again this is deep house in influence but is more aligned to Cafe Del Mar lounging, its lovely tinkles and vibes giving it a real sunset feel. Finally Max D serves up an edit of 'Improvisation' probably the most upbeat of the three remixes. This has a slightly more thumping kick drum with a stronger percussion vibe throughout, however its gentle synths and keys stop this from being dull, it rounds the record in style. Those who dug Caribou's 'Our Love' album should check this, the emotion led electronica is similar to Dan Snaith's more house led work.
