Unloved is a collaboration between David Holmes, True Detective score composer, Keefus Ciancia and songwriter Jade Vincent. They cite ‘60s girl groups, Jack Nitsche, Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota and Raymond Scott as influences. There’s a whole host of guest musicians involved too including the legendary Jim Keltner, Wayne Kramer of MC5 and Tommy Morgan who has worked with Elvis and The Beach Boys. Guilty of Love EP serves as an aperitif for their full album due later in the year but it gives a good taste of their cinematic, noir-ish sounds.

As usual David Holmes manages to create an aural collage of sound. Great EP, hoping for a whole albums worth! He manages to produce the goods with all of his projects and this is no exception. Always wished Mr. Holmes would tour some of his projects as this invokes a Portishead feel in my opinion (in terms of atmosphere).

Featuring dreamy vocals from Jade Vincent, they're based in LA which on this wet and windy day in Wales feels a million miles away but just about manages to transport me to a different place!
