Josh Homme and Jesse Hughes’ almost-but-not-quite serious rock band Eagles Of Death Metal return with their fourth full-length, Zipper Down. It has the heavy touch typical of Homme, but with extra touches like silly operatic backing vocals. And then there’s the cover art… On Caroline International.

Good album, my complaint is there are only six new songs. The lead single "Complexity" as well as two other tracks are covers of Jesse Hughes songs from his Boots Electric album Honky Kong. The remakes are cool - lots of guitar where the originals are more keyboard orientated. I like the pop feel of the Boots versions more though. "Oh Girl" is way more hooky and the vocals of "and I don't know why" are not stepped on like they are on this version. There is also a cover of Duran Duran's "Save a Prayer" - of course EODM would be fans of Duran Duran.
