The Lost Tapes Record Club is a project curated by Brian Campbell and Carl Turney of Clinic. The idea is to rediscover lost music such as live bootlegs, long forgotten jam sessions and field recordings. Songs For Secret Apocalypse Vol. 1 is the first in a series of 7” singles containing such music. Side one is Remember Happier Times by Foreign Policy, a band from Sefton which is from 1985. Side two features Blues Skies by Chthonic Tunnels, a dark piece that was recorded in one take.

8/10 Clinton Staff review, 16 September 2015

I was confused but now I'm not. This is a series curated by two people from the band Clinic in which they find lost tapes from the past and release them on 7". There are two tracks here - the first by Foreign Policy is purportedly from 1985 but its production values suggest something far more recent. No-one made music that sounded anything like this in 1985 so I think they are having us on. Anyway it's delightfully spangly post rock with glinting guitars and wooshy psych synths. Sounds like Slint meeting Stereolab.  Overleaf is something by Cthonic Tunnels (I think??) which is a krauty jam with pulverising drums and chopped, dislocated guitar.
