Despite operating out of Texas, Khruangbin are deeply influenced by Thai music, specifically the Thai funk of the 1960’s. If you aren’t familiar with the genre’s sound, prepare to be impressed with the grooving joy it fills you with! The Universe Smiles Upon You, the band’s debut, is on Late Night Tales, pressed to CD or white vinyl.

9/10 Alex Wordsworth Customer review, 4th November 2015

A gentle breeze of an album - perfect for kicking back and relaxing. The sparse, clean production and beautiful subtle playing create a sublime sonic landscape across the whole album, so much so that it flows effortlessly from one song to the next and never lets you lose interest. It's like someone put Tony Allen, David Gilmour and James Jamerson in a room, brought in their so-chilled-out-he's-horizontal mate on pedal steel guitar, gave them a bunch of Pina Coladas and pictures of Thai beach sunsets, and said, "PLAY THAT". Plus the artwork's gorgeous, which is always a bonus. The only reason I didn't give it 10 out of 10 is that it's not long enough - I could listen to this for hours!
