Dance duo Disclosure aka Surrey siblings Howard and Guy Lawrence were hugely successful with their million-selling debut, Settle. Sam Smith made his name with a guest vocal on their hit Latch. Their new album, Caracal, therefore has been eagerly anticipated.

Sam Smith guests again on the track Omen and there are other high-profile names along for the ride too with Gregory Porter, Lorde and Kwabs putting in appearances.

3/10 Joe Customer review, 13th November 2017

Gosh! What a disappointment.

After really enjoying what I thought was a pretty solid debut album (I'm still quick to say that their 2010-2012 EPs and singles are the best, though), "Caracal" is a shoddily contrived mash up of formulaic "songs" that make it quite embarrassing to say that I once enjoyed them.

Admittedly, some are decent and fine to play on their own - "Moving Mountains" is great, although heavily relies on Brendan Reilly (who was a pleasure to see perform live, by the way) and ironically can only be found on the "Deluxe" version of the album.

It's not a pleasure to listen to. In my opinion this definitely signals the end of Disclosure of an act: I wouldn't be surprised to see them produce music for the big bods, and if so, good to luck to them, I say.

But if they use that same fucking "wub-wub" sample again...
