Macaroni Cheese by The Twelve Hour Foundation

The Twelve Hour Foundation are an electronic duo from Bristol consisting of Jez Butler (ex-Beatnik Filmstars) and Polly Hulse. The pair got together to perform Butler’s solo album, The Lighter Side Of Concrete, to a live audience. Hulse suggested the name for a side project but it stuck.

I reckon I'd have turned out much better if BBC School's programming of the 1980s had had this funky little gem amongst their sig tunes. It's a lovely mix of squidgey analogue synths and tick-tocking drum machines that makes me wish I'd paid more attention in science class. Sounds like something the Radiophonic Workshop might have turned out on a spring morning after drinking too much BBC Coffee, or perhaps an outtake from the great Paddy Kingsland's 'Supercharged!'. Bloomin' marvellous, and the 'Lighter Side Of Concrete' album from the same label is worth a look too.
