The inaugural release on Cosmo Rhythmatic has Franck Vigroux unleash a monster 12” of rhythmic noise/ hard as nails techno. Opening with the shuddering distorted machine rhythms and siren like synth of ‘2024’ sounding like The Mover meets Pan Sonic meets Prurient in the bowels of Hell. Increasing in intensity the harsh noise is offset by the sustained siren like drone which offers a more sedate layer which seems to be where my brain is focussing.

‘Vesuve’ utilises crushing techno rhythms and searing blasts of densely textured apocalyptic noise to brutal effect. The rhythms vanishing for spannered synth solos and returning with driving bass. Fans of Stave / Taker, AnD should cop this.

‘Centaure’ sounds like some old Planet Core Productions track gone mental with deranged hoover style sound to suck you right up off of the dancefloor. Shapednoise restructures the track into something more fragmented and dynamic, with a little less focus on rhythm and emphasis on the physicality of the sound. Proper heavy stuff.
