Live At The 12 Bar finds Bert Jansch in fine form, recorded back in 1995 at a small London club. After a lengthy career (including as a founding member of Pentangle), Jansch is, quite rightly, a highly respected artist, and this collection gives a fifteen-track insight into his position in the folk tradition. First time on vinyl, on Earth Records.
8/10 Jack Customer review, 18th July 2016
This 54+ minutes live set from 1995 has Jansch singing in several styles--folk, Celtic, blues, plus an instrumental. There's a slight bit of chatter between tunes but nothing annoying. Recorded at the 12 Bar Club in London during - the sound here is very good. If you've only heard Jansch's earlier work, this may be an eye-opener. His guitar work is always good/stellar--listen to "Bett's Dance" for slice of his instrumental work, plus his playing on the vocal pieces here fits his vocals nicely.
