The Pink Opaque by Cocteau Twins

A nice new pair of Cocteau Twins reissues from 4AD, remastered anew using the original analogue master tapes. The Pink Opaque compiled choice cuts from the group’s early work in order to break them to the American market in 1986, and the selection of material still stands up today. Pressed to 180g vinyl.

Vinyl LP £15.49 CAD3509

9/10 Jack 25th June 2015

An early compilation of material culled from three albums and three EPs released between 1983 - 1985. Pink Opaque is not like the cozy, Starbucks-friendly lullabies of late period Cocteaux. This album has sharp points and rough edges. And every single note of every single song on this album will jar your consciousness loose from it's earthly moorings. Every single utterance from Liz's beautiful lips is an invocation to the elder spirits of the otherworld. Even if you have all of these songs from other sources, you still need to buy this album.
