Six songs, swathed in grainy reverb and dense production, from Angels Dust. That is to say, the pairing of Flavia Campi (vocals) and Avid Lampley (production). Murmured singing up front, surrounded by beats and haze. Moody and dusty and groovy and tuneful. Available as a US import 10”, on the Hit and Run label.

What have we here? A neat little 10" with screen-printed sleeve and six tracks of dusty loops and siren lady vocals. I suppose if you took Portishead's music and out it in a storage cupboard for 45 years and allowed it to age then this is kind of what would emerge when you took it out. It also has hints of a rusty Goldfrapp or DJ Shadow crate digging when the whole room as been out through '70's delay.
If that hasn't dropped a hint hard enough for you then let me say that this is really good. If you like Beach House then you are going to like the creeping title track. The artwork isn't overly obvious so I may have played the wrong side first but hey ho it's all good so it doesn't matter. One track on the other side sounds Like Low with the biggest drummer in the world clattering along. Really nice dreamy pop with creative production throughout. A real gem.
