‘Chase The Light’ was rehearsed and recorded at ‘The Arch’, a creative centre in Tottenham for young artists, designers and musicians where Leo Wyndham (guitar, vocals), Rupert Turner (guitar), Will Dorey (bass), and Matt Hodges (drums) rehearse, record and sometimes sleep. Their close relationship to the space brings an intimacy to their Foals-esque riffs, broken vocals and heavy drums.

7/10 Clinton Staff review, 05 June 2015

Palace enjoy releasing EPs. This is their second one with no album yet in sight. EPs are a nice snapshot into a band’s world without committing to a full album in todays fast moving world. Palace have a sound that is almost a almost scientifically created example of what many bands sound like these days. Their atmospheric guitars recall Wild Beasts before they discovered synths, the moody vocals have touches of Alex Turner and they sometimes aim towards Foals-like dynamics.

I’m not finding opener ‘Head Above the Water’ in any way objectionable. It’s lamplit and moody with a nice end section when the guitars start to take over. The production is kind of semi live with plenty of reverb. On ‘Settle Down’ there are hints of the rhyming style of King Krule and the EP has a nice carefully structured atmosphere all of its own. Palace seem to be slowly finding their sound and it is indeed a lovely thing.  Keep watching....
