The fourth release in the Whities label series (sensibly titled Whities 004) brings us a pair of new Minor Science tracks, both of which seem to have been dipped in a bath of analogue reverb, lending them a comfortable warmth. Excellent wandering jams these are, presented in a minimal blue elephant (?) sleeve.

8/10 Laurie Staff review, 03 June 2015
A day of OK releases and we come to Minor Science latest 12”, two tracks to rule them all. They are some sort of strange mix between softness and intensity, sounding relatively melodic and warm but with some finely placed bass stabs and a building insistency that just makes you want to get up and move, which is perfect - slightly abstract techno with some serious pump, and that’s just the A side.
Over to the B and a less regular beat underlies some fluttering, siren-like synths that come right out of Ceephax’s Cro Magnox dreamworld. I guess this is close to earlier Warp and R&S stuff, but I’m finding it hard to join dots here, just have yourself a listen! Smattered over both are these flexing effected vocal things that act as MC for your journey. So yes, thank you Minor Science for providing something remarkable today.
