Broken Water are an indie garage band and they make music which sounds like the kinda kids I wanted to be when I was in secondary school; slouchy, not giving a damn, shoulder-shrugging, skinny jeans wearing. I wasn’t any of that and instead went to a good university and do respectable things, like go for brunch with people called Charlotte. To escape the everyday, their latest LP, Wrought, is the perfect antidote; it’s gruff, guitar driven rock with some catchy riffs and some ambivalent, bored vocals. It’s melodic and fun and the soundtrack to the teenage years.
